Each summer, professional athletes from all over the country host their version of the various camps for their particular sport.
Saturday, former Lakeland High School football player and current New Orleans Saints Ronnie Ghent went back to his hometown to lend a hand for his friend and current Atlanta Falcon Chauncey Davis for the Explosion Football Camp at Bruce Canova Stadium. This was Chauncey’s football camp and Diabetes walk and Ronnie was sure eager to lend a hand.
Ronnie helped with the camp with fellow friends of the Atlanta Falcons which included Jonathan Babineaux, Corey McIntyre, and Stephen Nicholas.Ronnie believes in giving back to the hometown and helping the kids get the right direction they need. "I love seeing and helping the kids and it makes me feel so good helping them and watching them smile and have fun.” Although the temperature on the field was over 100 degrees not one person complained and the whole event was a success. The kids enjoyed getting the technique and learning the drills from the current NFL players.
